The original all-brick bank building was designed and built in the 1970’s and had an uninviting bunker feel to it. Located in a traditional New England suburb on a busy thoroughfare, the bank executives wanted the building to have a more traditional and inviting appearance and feel to it. The design solution was to integrate more traditional forms, materials, and details that are more in keeping with bank’s image and its headquarters located in an adjacent town. A new entry and additional windows make the bank more visible from the street which also adds to the bank’s security.
